I’m in the market for a Nikon digital in the price range of $500 to $800. I want to be able to use my older Nikkor manual lenses as well as AF lenses. I want a general, all purpose camera for travel, personal, studio work.
I was thinking of a D90. Do you have any other Nikon digitals in mind for me?
Good Day!
I actually have a question as a consumer. I paid for headshots by a professional photographer. She retouched two photos as part of the package. I wasn’t satisfied, so I took the original file to be retouched at a studio here in Nyc. There, I was told by the technicians that my eyes were out of focus.
Prior to this, I asked her why my eyes looked different in the large photo and was told that she was trying to “whiten” my eyes. But wouldn’t she have seen that my eyes were out of focus when she was re-touching it?
Then, upon further inspection of my photos, I found that only 20% of my pictures were in focus. The remaining photos were out of focus or “soft”. When I advised her of this, she offered a shorter free re-shoot. The camera was a Nikon D2X.
My questions are:
1) Is there anything I can do, to make sure that this doesn’t occur again?
2) Is it better to work with TIFF files vs. JPEG files?
3) How can something like this happen with a digital camera? Am I missing something?
Brent, I’ve got a question about backing up my blog incase of a crash or hack. I use blogspot, and go to Setting, then Export. I click that on and save it as a file on my pc. it saves as an xml file. When i open it to check, it comes up with all the text but a bunch of codes for the pics. wondering, am I doing this correctly? i know this doesn’t have anything to do with your photo topic, but maybe you can enlighten me when you have time. Thanks as ever.
Yes, you are doing it right. The XML file does not save the actual photo but only the link to it.
I have two hurdles to overcome when it comes to photography.
One, getting my images so sharp and clear. And lighting a scene at night.
