Brent, I'm not sure how this is going to work for me since I have a Craft it Wednesday meme. I ususally post a new craft on Tues. evening or Wed. till the following Tues./Wed. and a new one goes up. I'm not sure how to do this so it works for me since the blog giveaways are on Fridays. I posted the link this week anyway and will post the blog hop again next week. I guess???

Brent, I feel stupid, but I still don't understand why you'd want to link to a post on Mcklinky before you publish it. I just don't understand; could you (or anyone) give me an example of when this situation would be a useful trick? Thanks so much!

Hey Brent, I'm totally loving these helpful blogging tips! I've changed the way I blog because of you! I just watched your "resizing pictures in blogger" demo and can't wait to try it tonight. Thanks for all you put into this!

Fabulous post. OK . . .so then, is there a way to then have the post that is dated in the future, somehow show up on Mr. MckLinky? Like say you are going on vacation, have your post scheduled to post on Tuesday for the Blog Hop . . . but you aren't around to enter it into the blog hop. How could I enter the link, without going to that seperate page, while I am gone? Does that make sense? Oh, and even though you publish momentarily, it won't go out via Feedburner to your subscribers?

Amy- you have to save it as a draft before you change the date! If you just change the date and time then it will stay published. I do it all the time for links for reviews, so that I can email it to the PR rep or the company with the date that the review will be live. Just make sure you save as draft, then change date! You don't even have to view the post. You can click on edit post, right click on the view link, copy the link, then go ahead and click on edit and save as draft. You can really have it done before anyone knows it has been posted.

I wondered how people did this with my meme. They would tell me they linked up but when you clicked on the link it wouldn't show but the next day it would.

Doesn't it go out in the feed though and show anyway? I guess it doesn't matter if it shows on the feed early.

Do you even need to publish it the first time? Can't you just go directly to post options and schedule it that way?

Will this work? When I used Blogger once I published something, even if I went back and changed the date and time, it stayed published!! Maybe this has changed!

In Wordpress I believe there is a a place at the top of the post to grab the page link on the compose page.
